Baptist Confession of Faith – Wikipedia
The Confession lbxf Faith taught the typical Protestant view of the time that the Pope is antichrist. The Baptist Confession of Faith  also called the Second London Baptist Confessionwas written by Particular Baptistswho held to a Calvinistic soteriology in England to give a formal expression of their Christian faith from a Baptist perspective. The Lord Jesus Christ is the Head of the church, in whom, by the appointment of the Father, all power for the calling, institution, order or government of the church, is invested in a supreme and sovereign manner; neither can the Pope of Rome in any sense be head thereof, but is that antichrist, that man of sin, and son of perdition, that exalteth himself in the church against Christ.

Because it was adopted by the Lbfc Association of Baptist Churches in the 18th century, it is also known as the Philadelphia Confession of Faith. The Act of Toleration passed in enabled religious freedom and plurality to co-exist alongside the established churches in England and Scotland.
Particular Baptists were quick to develop churches in colonial America, and in the Philadelphia Baptist Association was formed.
